Most dog owners are looking for the best natural dog training treats, whether it is for puppies, older dogs, training classes, recall training, walking treats, or good behaviour

Do you want to know what works? Or what are the secret supercharged jackpot training treats? Then read on…

What are the best treats for training

I believe you need small, extra yummy, extra smelly treats for training as you are going to be using quite a few and because of this you need them to be healthy. And you want a quick instant, ready reward.

Why shouldn’t we use cooked meats, cheese or hotdogs?

They tend to contain a lot of salt and/or fat, and that is not great for dogs, and especially when training as you tend to use a lot of treats when training.

Ok we can sneak them a bit when we are having a cheese sandwich but its really not that good for them.

What about the squeezy cheese in a tube? Eekk take a look at the ingredients, even for humans its meant to be eaten sparing definitely not a tube in a short amount of time. Why not use a better alternative? You can blend some liver, or fresh meat into a paste, what about very easy to make nut “butter”

How to make nut butter

My Pumpkin Butter Recipe

50g pumpkin/sunflower seed

100ml water

2 tbs oil

Soak pumpkin seeds overnight in plain water, drain, then add to a blender with water and oil, blend slowly adding more liquid slowly as you don’t want to make it runny

Also we have sourced dog-friendly hotdogs here, individually wrapped so use as you want, with that lip smacking brine smell but no added salt

Supercharged Dog Training Treats

Save these for the tough training sessions or extra amazing recalls, do not over use for normal training, as everything can become boring!

& supercharge can be different for each dog, so work out what the super for your dog is.

The chicken hearts are super for most dogs, they are abit smelly, but moist and chewy, unlike other dried meaty they retain the extra properties to make them top of the class.

Tripe mini treats , salmon minis or soft poultry treats are other fab, soft choices.

Everyday Training Treats

Even everyday training treats, I mix up, I never stick to the same one, change it up and keep it exciting!

Why not scatter them, or throw them in the air (whether they can catch or not) rather than just feeding from the hand?

Training treats for puppies

Expect to use four times as many as you think you’ll need when training a puppy!! And expect to use four different kinds!

Puppies eat quickly, but can get bored quickly, so keep the treats quick to feed and have a variety ready to go

All of our training treats are suitable for puppies, see the range here

I love a treat bag!!

For training sessions I love a treat bag, I personally like one with a belt so it goes round your waist or across the shoulder

They keep the treats to hand to feed quickly and easily, timing is everything after all !

And I love a snap shut top, especially great for running around and helps stop greedy pups

So which treats to try!!!!!

We have many choices, so all tastes and appetites catered for, why not try our training treat bundle or the grain-free training treats?
